Bahadur Ke Road Identified Knitwear Cluster Industry at Bahadur-Ke-Road is established after 1985, when some progressive entrepreneurs shifted their units from the congested area of the city and starts modernisation. With a passage of time more and more units shifted from the city areas to this place. The industry grew by itself into a cluster without much improvement in the infrastructure. At present there are more than 100 units working in the area are of dyeing, knitting /weaving, garmenting and packaging under the umbrella of Bahadur ke Textile & Knitwear Association (Regd.), Ludhiana.

Bahadur Ke Textile & Knitwear Association has commenced civil work on its waste-based power unit at Bahadur-ke-Road, in Ludhiana district of Punjab. The company is setting up a 10 MW waste-based power unit in Punjab and has acquired 4.5 acre of land for the project. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 1480 million.

The power plant entails an investment of Rs 148 crore. At present, work on the project is underway and is scheduled for completion by March 2015.
