Textile Minstry receives approval for IPDS from CCEA

Textile Ministry which has mooted the Integrated Processing and Development Scheme has received approval from Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA). The scheme will be carried out during the five year plan (2012-2017) and has received a grant of Rs. 5 billion. It will be used for common facilities in the textile parks such as captive power generation on technology, preferably renewable/green technology; infrastructure such as storm water management, common effluent treatment plants, necessary roads and pipelines for water & wastewater; and facility for testing and R&D centres.

The scheme will also support existing processing clusters.
