Karnataka government is setting up a silk cluster in Belavadi in Yelwala hobli on the outskirts of Mysuru. The facility will be spread across 11 acres and will house post-cocoon stage to fabric manufacturing and sales showroom. The total investment envisaged is around ₹ 490 million. It will also serve as an extension centre for silk marketing, provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to reelers, weavers and other stakeholders in the sericulture industry, except cocoon growers.
