Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) and the state government initiative Suvarna Vastra Neethi is likely to set up 75 weaving unit and 600 looms and 8 apparel factories with 500 sewing machines in the Doddaballapur Integrated Textile park near Bangalore. The park will eventually provide employment to 8000 people has pre-weaving and processing facilities. The park is spread over 48 acres and 41 units are expected to become operational by end 2011. The park was set up with an investment of Rs. 850 million of which Centre’s contribution is around Rs. 340 million.
