Incorporated in Mar.’84 as Gautam Processors (India) by D S Ranka and renamed as Global Syntex (Bhilwara) in Oct.’94, the company is engaged in dyeing and processing synthetic fabric, mainly on job basis. Other than dyeing and processing on job basis, it also sells its own processed fabrics — suitings under the Gautam brand name. Its unit at Bhilwara, Rajasthan, has an installed capacity of 100 lac mtr of fabric pa. The company does job processing for reputed companies like Modern Suitings, Nutan Synthetics and Mangalam Fabrics.
In 1996, the company integrated backward to add weaving (manufacturing of fabric) activities in addition to its present processing activities. It is setting up a weaving unit nearby its processing unit, with an installed capacity of 28 lac mtr pa. It came out with a public issue in Apr.’96 to part-finance its project. During 1996-97, company has taken major steps for upgradation of Plant & Machinery. The company is in progress of installing the other balancing equipments and this will improve the capacity utilisation.
