In order to promote integrated textile units in India, Union Ministry has initiated a scheme for integrated textile parks, which provides subsidies for entrepreneurs who can set up world class facilities for textile units. They are encouraged to setup modern effluent treatment and other common facilities, storage yard, logistics, skills training institute, testing laboratories besides others. Over 40 textile parks have come up since the scheme was introduced in 2005.
Each integrated textile park (ITP) needs to form a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with the representatives of local industry, Financial Institutions, State Industrial & Infrastructural Corporations and State & Central Government.The park is be funded by the Ministry of Textiles, State Governments and State Industrial Development Corporations in the form of grants to the tune of 40% of the eligible project cost, with a ceiling of Rs. 40 crore.
