Gujarat Polyfims Ltd was incorporated during July 2014 as Gujarat Polyfilms Pvt Ltd It was promoted by Pratibha group based in Surat. GPPL has converted into GPL on 26th September 2016. It was engaged in manufacturing of Nylon Yarn used in the textile and garment manufacturing industry. However, in February 2009 GPL had implemented a backward integration project and set-up a polymerization division for manufacturing of Nylon Chips of engineering and textile grade from Caprolactum chips at its existing plant which was used as one of the raw materials for manufacturing of Nylon Yarn. GPL had an installed capacity of 7,200 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) each of nylon yarn and nylon chip division.
During FY16 GPL has implemented the expansion project of enhancing the nylon chips manufacturing capacity from 7,200 MTPA to 28,800 MTPA at the existing location in order to cater to the needs of other than textile industry using nylon chips as raw material, like automobile, plastics etc.
