Shabnam Petrofils Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL) incorporated in the year 2002 is engaged in manufacturing of polyester yarn and grey fabric in Surat, Gujarat. Earlier Shabnam Group began manufacturing of Grey Polyester in 1978 as a partnership firm. The company commenced commercial operations in 2004 with an initial capacity of 7,300 MTPA (metric tones per annum) combined for yarn and fabric. The current
capacity of the company is ~23,000 MTPA and nearly 60% of the capacity is utilized for the manufacturing of fabrics and the rest for yarn. In addition, the company is also involved in the trading of yarns.
The company currently has six texturizing machines and seven spinning lines of its own. In addition, the company has taken on lease nearly 500 weaving looms, which are owned by its sister concerns. SPPL is in the process of setting up an additional manufacturing unit with 7 texturizing machines and 72 knitting machines.
