SIMA demands scrapping of Handlooms Reservation Act 1985

SIMA (South India Mills Association) has demanded a repeal off the Handlooms Reservation Act,1985 which is curtailing the growth. It also makes the product expensive and affects the workers of handlooms. Sathyam Committee which was formed in 1999 has also recommended its scrapping. Now, most of the products produced in handlooms are better produced in cost effective manner.
