FICCI, the industrial promotion body has asked the government to set up National Textile Research Council to gain edge in advanced textiles. It has suggested a seed money of Rs.3000 million and an annual grant of Rs.100 million. Such a body can provide directions and can give a special focus to advanced textiles and value added items. They have submitted a detailed recommendation to the Ministry of Textiles.
